Add us to your Business Cards

Why not add the FindAManAndVan.co.uk logo to your business cards?

Handing a business card to a client as you complete a job ensures they have your contact details for any future work (or recommending to a friend), and you can point out our URL and ask them to visit and leave feedback if they appreciated your service.

Previous customer comments could make all the difference as to whether one of our visitors chooses to do business with you or not, they provide an honest, unbiased view, and are therefore highly valued by our visitors. Getting clients to add feedback to FindAManAndVan.co.uk will ensure you get the most out of your listing with us.

Associating your business with our site also shows that you are serious about the work you do, hence listing with a specialised site.

Look after your Van, and yourself!

Your van isn't just an expensive asset, it's also a large part of your marketing. Whether you choose to signpaint your van or not, when you arrive at a client, impressions matter...new business often comes from recommendations, and this means onlooking neighbours, and friends/family of your current client...so when you arrive, make sure your van is clean and tidy, both inside and out.

The same applies to yourself, make sure you personally are a gleaming example of the quality of your business...clean and tidy clothing is important to make the right impression.

Be friendly

Yes, this may be obvious, but it's amazing how many people in the Man & Van industry forget that they are providing a personal service, and that people really like the friendly approach.

Taking an interest in why your client is moving (without being too nosey!), gives you bonus points with the client, and will increase the likelyhood of them recommending you to friends and family.

Voicemail - a chance to lose your winnings

So you're on the move all day...well that's understandable. But for new clients wishing to book a job with you, this means they may well get your voicemail (answering machine). There's nothing wrong with putting people through to your voicemail, and in fact, I believe it is often preferable to taking a call whilst on the move, which can often sound unprofessional, and isn't frankly that safe!

So what's the point on voicemail? It's simply to have a professional, and personal, message. For a new client, getting through to a standard voicemail message from your provider makes them unsure of whether they got the right number.

A badly made voicemail message is a quick and easy way to put off a potential client. They can just hang up and try another Man & Van. So remember to record it in a quiet location, and keep it brief and polite:

"Hi, you're through to John's Removals, I'm sorry I can't take your call at the moment. Please leave a message after the tone, and your phone number, and I'll give you a callback as soon as I can. Thank you."
